Another grace-filled week. More of life, more time and space to enjoy this enchanting world that God created for us to savor and relish.

Below are three instances where I encountered God’s tenacious love.

One: I liked the first four lines of R. S. Thomas’s poem, “Pietà”:

Always the same hills
Crowd the horizon,
Remote witnesses
Of the still scene

These lines brought me back to an early summer morning in 2007, when I sat outside in Georgia for my devotions, captivated by God through His Word and the stunning beauty of the mountains. Praise his holy name.

Two: I liked—loved is more like it—Scotty Smith’s Monday morning prayer, especially these lines:

What a blessed Day that will be…
Wiped tears, redeemed pain, and healed everything
No more worries, fears, regrets, wars, hurting, or hurting others
The Great Commission will forever be the Great Accomplishment
The earth will be filled with your glory, your redeemed family, and all things new
No more death and dying. No more funeral homes and funerals. No more “Goodbye dear friend, see you in heaven”—which many of us will say today to Rose Marie Miller at her funeral—beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother (to over 65!) and spiritual mom to scores of us. What a Gospel and what a daughter of yours we will celebrate today, Abba.

Three: I liked listening to pianist Luke Faulkner’s “Clouds,” while writing each morning this week. I hope you enjoy it!

That’s all for this week, friends.
